Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

It’s been a difficult start to 2020, with Australia on fire, lives lost and the loss of wildlife. I hope, whatever part of the world you live in, you stay safe.

Writing update:

Book two of the Velocity Series is almost done and will be ready for a late February, early March release. After much consideration, I’ve done some major rewrites on book one and cleaned up the timeline so it’s easier to read.

At the end of last year, I met up with 70 other authors for our annual conference at the Hilton, in Adelaide, South Australia. We had a fun filled day, leaned a lot about publishing and made new friends.

The long process of writing a short story!

I won’t lie, this short took me  longer to write than I expected. I had the outline in my head but as I put pen to paper, it was hard to keep it short.
It was going to be longer, a lot longer, novella size but then it came to me. The ending came out of the blue like a lightning bolt.
But I won’t share that here, in case you haven’t read it yet.
So far, feedback is all positive! Which is a relief, especially when you put your first work out there for the world.

Author Group Meetup

This is what a room full of indie authors look like, just in case you ever wondered.

I was super lucky yesterday to meet a lovely group of indie authors for a luncheon/meetup. We came from around the globe, well two did, the rest of us from around Australia to talk indie authoring and network.

Two of the great Scifi writers, Craig Martelle and Michael Anderle are front and center. I’m second from the right.

There is no better motivation than to meet a room full of other authors. I will be running on writing adrenaline for months to come.
